Our objectives

We are committed to minimising our negative impacts on the environment and self-consciously operate in a sustainable way, meeting the needs of the present without hopefully compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We have taken steps to reduce these impacts and willfully encourage our business associates and clients to do so as well.

 
There is no point us having a Policy unless we put into practice, so here’s what we do.

Waste Reduction

We try to eliminate waste at source by making the most of email which saves both paper and also carbon miles for postage. We don’t print emails unless absolutely necessary and use draft format to minimise ink use. We use recycled paper which isn’t always the cheapest and use both sides for scrap in the office and encourage everyone to use the mailing preference service to eliminate or reduce junk mail.

Recycling

We recycle whenever possible based on local Council guidelines and even compost shredded paper to help grow our own vegetables! When any hardware reaches the end of its practical life, is cleared of information and passed to the local Environ office, or equivalent, to be refurbished or used as parts.

Purchasing

Like all companies our purchasing decisions are influenced by cost, however this by no means our only consideration, and we make a conscious effort to ensure we buy from local sustainable sources if at all possible. The paper we use in our printing comes from FSC sources as a minimum.

Travel

We have undertaken a commitment to make our travel as green as possible, most of us work from home, we always plan our routes carefully to reduce our mileage and carbon emissions, and also make use of video and audio conferencing facilities.

Energy Usage

Of course, working from home means that we are all very conscious of our own energy and water usage.
